FY2003 Guidance for Development of [ANSS] Regional Implementation Plans
John Filson, U.S. Geological Survey, July 20, 2002ANSS funding for FY2003 is likely to be at the same level as FY2002 - $3.9 M. Regional requests should not exceed the scale of the previous year.
1. Instrumentation:
- Ground (strong motion)- . Continue focus on urban regions. Consideration should be given to the integration of existing NSMP stations into regional
network operations. Specify number of instruments.- Structures - consideration should be given to the instrumentation of suitable structures within the region. Recommendations can be made on the types
of structures to be instrumented elsewhere.2. System level expenditures:
- Regional requests for infrastructure support can be made.
- Should be on a functional basis.
- May include centralized developments
- National backbone stations.
3. Operations and maintenance:
- Critical ANSS O&M issues may be raised.
- Should be on a functional basis.
4. Development - Any regional cooperative opportunities should be identified along with ANSS support needed.
