University of Utah Seismograph Stations November 28, 2000 at 8:15 a.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a small earthquake of magnitude 2.5 occurred last night in central Utah at 9:32 p.m. MST. The epicenter of the shock was located 8 miles west southwest of Price beneath the eastern edge of the Wasatch Plateau. The shock was reported felt by some residents in Price. | ||

University of Utah Seismograph Stations November 27, 2000 at 8:30 a.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 2.9 earthquake occurred at 12:34 a.m. MST today in central Utah. The epicenter of the shock was located about 2 miles northeast of Richfield, Utah. The earthquake was reported felt by local residents. A series of small earthquakes, magnitude less than 2.8, occurred in the same area earlier this month on November 8, 2000. | ||

University of Utah Seismograph Stations November 11, 2000 at 3:20 p.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 2:17 p.m. MST today in the Uinta Basin of northeastern Utah. The epicenter of the shock was located 21 miles southeast of Vernal, Utah, and 13 miles west of Dinosaur, Colorado, in a relatively unpopulated area. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations November 8, 2000 at 2:45 p.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a series of small earthquakes began occurring this afternoon at 1:28 p.m. near Richfield in central Utah. The two largest shocks in the sequence, both of magnitudes 2.8 occurred at 1:41 and 2:45 p.m. MST. Approximately one dozen locatable earthquakes occurred during the first hour of the sequence. The two largest earthquakes were reported felt in Richfield. Earthquake swarms such as the one which occurred today are common in the Sevier Valley area, where Richfield is located. Other recent swarms in this area occurred in April, June, August and September-October, 1999, and included earthquakes of up to magnitude 3.9. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations October 27, 2000 at 8:10 a.m. MDT The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 7:17 a.m. MDT. The epicenter of the shock was located in the Bear Lake Valley in southeastern Idaho, 5 miles west-northwest of Montpelier, Idaho. The earthquake was widely felt in Montpelier. No damage has been reported. This morning's shock occurred in a seismically active area where small earthquakes occur frequently. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations August 30, 2000 at 8:30 a.m. MDT The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 2:21 a.m. MDT this morning in a rural area along the Utah-Idaho border. The epicenter of the shock was located 6 miles northeast of Snowville, Utah and 22 miles southwest of Malad City, Idaho. This morning's shock occurred close to the location of a magnitude 6.0 earthquake in March of 1975. Numerous small to moderate-size earthquakes have been recorded in this general area in recent decades. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations May 27, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. MDT The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred at 3:58 p.m. MDT. The epicenter of the shock was located near the southern edge of the Paradox Valley in southwestern Colorado, 6 miles east of the Utah border and 16 miles east of the town of LaSal, Utah. Shocks of magnitude 3.7 and 3.8 occurred in this same general area on June 3, 1999 and July 6, 1999, respectively. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations March 6, 2000 at 8:15 p.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred at 7:16 p.m. MST this evening in central Utah. The epicenter of the shock was located 5 miles north of Helper and about 9 miles north northwest of Price in an area of active underground coal mining. The shock was felt in the Price area and reportedly triggered a rock slide which has closed US Highway 6 north of Price. |

University of Utah Seismograph Stations January 30, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. MST The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that a magnitude 4.4 seismic event occurred at 7:46 a.m. MST in southwestern Wyoming. The epicenter of the shock was located 20 miles west of Green River. The epicenter is in an area of known active underground mining where some prior seismic events have been associated with mining activity, including a magnitude 5.2 shock in February 1995. |
