GPS Antenna Installation

The installation of the GPS antenna requires some degree of creativity. Almost every site requires a variation of the mount you will use to attach the antenna. Special consideration to the location and mounting of the GPS should be given when visiting the site prior to installation. This allows you to prepare for what is almost always a "custom" installation.

You should choose a location where the antenna has a good field of view. The more open the location is to the sky the better. The location must not be prone to snow buildup, as snow will degrade the signal to unacceptable levels. The Kinemetrics supplied cable is 75 feet long and its routing should also be a consideration when choosing the location for the antenna.
